What do you do in the business?

My name is Mandy Amatt, and I am the Online Course Delivery Manager and a Safeguarding and Wellbeing Champion at CT Skills. I oversee the delivery of short courses and manage the learner journey from enrolment through to completion. The team includes learner support staff, customer service advisors, and independent tutors, all dedicated to providing high-quality learning support. With more than 24 years of experience in the education sector, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a strong understanding of learner needs.

What’s your background?

My career at CT Skills began as a learner, and I was fortunate to secure a role as a Data Administrator. Since then, I have progressed through several positions, including Data Manager and Regional Centre Manager, before stepping into my current role as Contracts Manager. I work closely with all CT Skills teams and stakeholders to build strong relationships that support learner success. I am passionate about helping individuals achieve their full potential and take great pride in seeing learners thrive. As a Safeguarding and Wellbeing Champion, I support the company’s Safeguarding and Wellbeing Strategy by raising awareness of wellbeing topics and activities, promoting healthy lifestyles and positive mental health, and sharing valuable resources created by the Safeguarding Team.

What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve received or given?

The best career advice I’ve received is to step outside your comfort zone — confidence grows when you take accountability for your actions. My advice to others is simple: give it a go. One shoe doesn’t fit all, and there will always be someone here to support you. Growth comes from taking that first step, so trust yourself and do your best.
